Which Snake Are You?

It's the beginning of the year! I hope 2016 is already a great year for you! Although 2016 is a Monkey year according to the Chinese zodiac, I'm going to talk about snakes for the first post of 2016! Snakeskin has always been designers' favourite because of the beautiful scales it has. Although snakeskin is typically deemed as a Fall/Winter element, some designers actually still use them for their Spring/Summer collection-- not for an entire collection, but is part of a safari theme that some designers seem to be coincidently having for their SS16 collection. It looks like the designers just want you to get up from your bed in summer and go out!

Let's see which snake you will/want to be, shall we?

One. Jason Wu Snake.

The Jason Wu SS16 collection looks like someone who's reluctant to wake up because of the romance she's been indulging in since last year autumn. The dark pine green that Jason Wu used for the snakeskin dress and bag together with that red wine lips are undoubtedly a very valid reason for you to choose to be a sexy 'Jason Wu snake 'wandering around the city at night with your lover! Are you a 'Jason Wu snake' who wants to spend your whole summer with your Prince Charming?

TWO. Versace Snake.

Versace's SS16 collection features different animal prints in neon orange, purple and green, except the snakeskin. All the animals in the Versace world seems to be having a lot of fun, but the snakes just detach itself from the crowd, looking coldly at the other animals-- that's why the maroon, dark olive green and black used on the bags. Are you a 'Versace snake' who is quiet, cold, and secretive that just wants to go out and explore alone? This looks like what a typical introvert will do (I'm so much yes to be a Versace snake...).

THREE. Bottega Veneta Snake.

Just as Versace, Bottega Veneta SS16 collection has also used animal prints on the jackets, dresses and pants. But they are not as body-fitted as Versace's, Bottega Veneta's are not meant to seduce, but to go for an outdoor activity like travelling, surfing and hiking in summer. The masculine jackets in red and brown snakeskin show that a woman is no longer afraid to depart from her adventurous journey. Are you a 'Bottega Veneta snake' who will start your summer with some activities that you don't have the courage to try before?

Whatever you choose to be, just make sure you will not be a lazy snake on your bed! Getting glammed up with your favourite pieces of clothes that will make you feel confident and fabulous is the first step to have a great day-- at least that's the case for me. What about you?
