Shu Han has some interesting stories throughout her drawing journey, and I'll try my best to narrate them well (she knows it best, I have really bad memory).

I remember she liked to doodle and decorate her notes with flowers, different colour pens, and sometimes cute little stickman and stickgirl. She would show me and say "Beautiful leh...(美咧...)" proudly to me, then I'd be like "Nah..." haha. We finally finished our highschool in 2011, marked an end to the craziest moment that was full of laughters. I thought we would not meet again in the university but fate would never set us apart. Just when we thought our lives in the university would be another awesome and unforgettable moment, some shits happened. These shits just got both of us really depressed because it hit our self-confidence to the lowest level possible.

We tried our best to keep ourselves away from the reality-- she started hiding herself and I suddenly lost all the interests in making friends with people. Socialising became a tiring activity for us, and she started spending most of her spare time at her hostel.

This was the time she began drawing. Starting from black and white, then she began adding some colours onto it. I remember she once told me that drawing is the only moment she could stop thinking and just escape from the reality. She loves Marvels so much that she would pour her whole self into creating a perfect piece from Avengers, Ironman, Captain America, Spiderman and Thor. Loki is always at the top of her hero list because she thinks Loki is just like her in the real life, even Loki might not appear to be a true hero in the movie.

She would normally watch a particular movie again and again (probably a thousand times) before she begins to draw that movie's character. If you say fanart and realism art are not deserved to be called an art, you probably do not know that it takes both skills and love to create a piece that often takes her few weeks to complete. It is just as respectable as other forms of arts, even a stickman she drew during highschool deserves respect. It is often the 'feelings' that are more precious than any kind of thing because it is hard to find and it cannot be forced, while Shu Han's arts just prove that it is one.

She had a chance to held an art exhibition in school in 2013. She was excited but extremely nervous about it because the school helped nothing but merely provided a few boards for her to hang her babies. And of course, she felt anxious about how people would think of her and her arts as well, she's worried that she might not be good enough. To hang up her babies, she spent her own money to buy the frames, and she probably had asked me a million times whether her drawings would fall down as the boards seemed to be not firm enough to support her paintings. She didn't want to see her babies falling down and shame them, just like a mother loves her babies.

That day finally came-- the day she hold her first art exhibition in her life. It was not a perfect day because some of her babies actually fell down from the board and you could smell the disappointment she had from her sighs. Nonetheless, this was also the day she felt she was accepted through her drawings because she received tons of compliments from the people who came to her exhibition. This was also the day she started receiving commissions from people to draw for them. This might sound creepy, but I was actually standing far from her and looking at her explaining her arts to the people who came, I quickly became a proud friend who just felt happy for her. It is her passions that touched me.

If this doesn't convince you enough how much she loves her babies. Let me tell you one more story.

I couldn't remember what we were doing on that day but she just came and told me that she has lost all of her drawings. She used to go to school with a black file where she put all her drawings inside. She had that worrying face, watering eyes and quivering voice that I hadn't seen before. She must have felt so useless because she wasn't able to protect her arts well. Fortunately, I found her file in the bookstore on the following day. Called her and she sounded like a hopeless mother, it must have been another sleepless night for her.

Unlike most of the people, who treat art as an hobby, Shu Han treats arts like a mother. She lives with them, protects them, and pours a lot of love into them. Presenting this amazing lady to you:

My best friend, my partner in crime, my bro.
