Fashion Dose #3

I've finally done the setting up and launching of my fashion business-- PAZINE.COM. This is a site selling pre-loved clothing with an original price of above RM100, and you may ask, why pre-loved? It's simply based on my belief that A FASHION LOOK should be about two key things-- quality and design. Entering fashion stores and I see almost the same clothes are being sold at a super low price with low quality has led me to believe that I could actually trust my instinct and do something about it, by collaborating with fashionistas who have to constantly update their wardrobes. Also, it's actually my little way of challenging the fast fashion phenomenon that is built on a system that is not sustainable at all. You may find more about it through the videos I've made (a total of 3 parts) on the PAZINE's Facebook page here.

It's been said that the new luxury is actually about a better you, instead of merely spending on things and the experiences. Many brands include Selfridges, Nike and Lululemon have classes and studios that help customers to be a better you through fitness and meditation. Locally, there's no other brand does better than Twenty3. The founder herself has occasionally held a BBG meet up with whoever who wants to break her limits. Twenty3 also has an attractive collection of sport bras to be worn throughout your fitness journey. It feels like the brand she created is growing together with her transformation, which is an interesting thing to see. When she indulges herself in the fitness, she will launch a sports collection. When she's fighting her depression, she has a line (TEA collection) that encourages people to find for positivity. Normal humans will always be looking for ways to improve, if it's as easy as buying something affordable, why wouldn't we do it? We know the world and the society have been so harsh on us sometimes, but as long as we don't give up, there's always a way to be where you want to be.

Although it's not yet enough, but the fashion industry has slowly started to accept different kind of bodies. This time, we have a new plus-size model who is joining the #bodypositive move-- Mr. Zach Miko. Don't worry you read it right, he's the first ever male model that Brawn Agency (an IMG division for plus-size male models) has signed, with 40 inches waist. This is an encouraging move for the tall, hefty and muscular type of men.

And you probably know the next big thing that happens in the fashion industry-- Chanel's cruise show in Cuba. This is actually my most favourite cruise collection as compared with the previous collections at the Seoul and Dubai, because it seems to me that there's a great coalition and right amount of two different cultures, with the Cuban cultures perfectly infused into Chanel's elegant French chic. Karl Lagerfeld has just proved that you can be elegant too even if you've put on many colours and have a complex look. However, although it's been reported that the Cubans were dancing and cheering happily together with the models while closing the show, the people were actually invited instead of what we have imagined it to be a cheerful celebration with the real people around. After all the scene has to be in control, Chanel can't be blamed.

Talking about the luxuries, the China regulator is going to launch a campaign (FINALLY) to clean up E-commerce and online advertisements, which aims at the counterfeit and low quality goods. This would probably improve the intellectual property laws in China, which is a very important law for the companies selling luxury goods in China, including Gucci. Interestingly, Gucci has sent warning letters for the shop sellers who sell paper lookalikes of its famous Gucci bags-- yes, the bag Chinese will 'send' for people to use in their afterlife during 'QingMing'. The action to defend the company's status has become so serious that you've got to burn a real Gucci bag next time if your loved ones like it.

That's it for Fashion Dose #3! Till next time!
